E9

E9 is an outdoor apparel brand created by the former bouldering world champion Mauro Calibani, who also developed the bouldering 'mecca' in Italy, Meschia. Both in terms of design and manufacturing, the brand is Italian based.

Why E9 clothing is different

Traditionally, climbing clothes are divided up into categories for bouldering, pure sports climbing and alpine climbing, with the alpine brands using a lot of specialist technical materials and the sports climbing and bouldering brands using slightly more stylish, but perhaps less technically developed, clothing. E9 clothing is almost like the bridge between all three of these categories, as its creator has managed to make clothing that is not only highly functional and serves its purpose exceptionally well, but is also invariably stylish and versatile, as Calibani, when first developing the clothing line, was determined that style should not have to be compromised in favour of functionality and vice versa.

E9 product range

In terms of specific products, E9 sells climbing trousers, hoodies, hats and vest tops, as well as short and long sleeved t-shirts. Its climbing trousers are made from a highly durable material and include features such as articulated knees to prevent scrapes and cuts when climbing from one boulder to the next, drawcord ankles, which again protect this delicate area of the leg and large pockets. E9 hoodies are famously comfortable and stylish, made from incredibly soft but durable materials. Like the hats and long sleeved t-shirts, they're designed to keep you warm and snug when climbing on cold days. They come in a huge variety of colours and styles and can just as easily be worn around the house as they can on the cliff face. Their t-shirts are great for layering up during those climbing days when the weather is unpredictable and goes from hot to cold in a matter of hours.
