The Petzl Nitro 3 is a specially designed shock absorbing sling that can be used as a quickdraw on dubious pieces of protection. The sling has six stitched branches all held together by a velcro strap to stop them catching on anything. In the case of a severe fall the stitching on the slings will rip as the sling opens out into a longer sling, thus minimising the impact force exerted on the protection.
