Quickdraws are the simplest and fastest means of securing a climber's rope to protection. Essentially two snap-gate karabiners joined by a sling, as a unit they are considerably less bother than removing and clipping a karabiner, then a sling, then another karabiner would be at each point of protection. The slings are stitched along a portion of their length to help retain the karabiners, and keep the whole unit more manageable.
