The Petzl Paso 7.7mm DuraTec Dry is a super-light and thin climbing rope, ideal for ice climbing and technical mountaineering where a light, water resistant rope is essential.
The Paso performs and handles extremely well cold and wet conditions, thanks to a Duratec Dry Treatment which prevents absorption of water. The dry treatment also protects the rope from dirt and abrasion, prolonging the life of the rope.
The Paso 7.7mm DuraTec Dry comes ClimbReady Coiled so it is ready to use as soon as you unpack the rope, preventing tangles sometimes associated with uncoiling new ropes, and the EverFlex Treatment makes the rope soft, supple and easy to handle.
DuraTec Dry Treatment
The Duratec Dry treatment prevents the fibres from absorbing water, making the rope more resistant to water, dirt and abrasion. Handling, grip and ease of use are increased and retained for longer in cold, wet conditions.
The sheath and core at the ends of the rope are bonded together using Ultrasonic welding adding to durability and preventing frayed ends.
All petzl ropes are specially coiled so they are ready to use, preventing uncoiling mistakes and tangles, and increasing the life of the rope. Once you have unpackaged the rope you can literally put it on your rope bag and climb.
The rope is marked in the middle for easy location of the mid point.
All Petzl ropes undergo a special heat treatment process to lock in the rope fibres performance characteristics, providing consistent, excellent handling though out the ropes life.
